The Dionaea muscipula ‘Werewolf’ is a mutant VFT. The plant was named ‘Werewolf’ after the traps that remind one of the claws of the mythological werewolf. The teeth of the traps of this unusual Venus fly-trap are wide and taper into sharp tips pointing to all sides. Even though the Dionaea muscipula ‘Werewolf’ has no ‘trigger’-hairs in its traps and therefore cannot be closed, yet the plant is a unique Venus fly-trap species growing notwithstanding if there is sufficient light and water.
